For Ward 3 Councillor at Ajax 

My name is Santosh Gaddam, and I am honoured to be running for the Ward 3 Councillor at Ajax Municipality.

Ajax is more than where I live — it is where my family and I chose to build our future.

Our Ajax Story
 

In 2020, my family and I proudly chose Ajax as our home. We didn't just buy a house — we invested in a community where we wanted to raise our family, build lasting friendships, and contribute to the town's future. Like thousands of residents, I understand the everyday concerns of working families: affordability, safe neighbourhoods, quality services, good infrastructure, and creating opportunities for the next generation.
 

I am a proud father of two children who attend school right here in our neighbourhood. We shop local, we eat local, and much of our life is rooted right here in our community. The Ajax waterfront is my favourite spot in town — I often go there to walk or bike, and it reminds me why we chose to call Ajax home. I truly appreciate and value everything our neighbourhood has to offer, and I am committed to protecting and improving it for generations to come.
 

My Journey to Canada
 

I came to Canada in 2010 as an international student, with a dream of building a better future through education, hard work, and determination. After completing my studies at Centennial College in Toronto, I met the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent residency based on my education and work experience, and became a Permanent Resident in 2017. A few years later, in 2020, I proudly became a Canadian citizen.
 

Alongside this journey, I built a successful career as a Software Engineer, working for more than 13 years across multiple industries and organizations. As a software engineer, my day-to-day work involves creating new applications and resolving issues by writing code — a process that demands constant problem-solving, creativity, and attention to detail. That career has taught me how to solve complex problems, manage projects, work with diverse teams, and make decisions based on facts and accountability. I want to bring that same problem-solving mindset and creative thinking to our community, helping guide Ajax toward sustainable growth — skills I believe belong at the council table.
 

A Perspective Shaped by Travel

I have always had a spirit of curiosity and adaptability, and it has carried me far — literally. Over the years, I've had the privilege of travelling to several countries around the world, each experience enriching me with great cultural exposure. Here in Canada, I have touched all corners of this vast country, from Whitehorse, Yukon in the west, to Cape Spear Lighthouse in Newfoundland and Labrador in the east, down to Windsor in the south. These journeys have taught me how communities thrive through thoughtful planning, innovation, environmental responsibility, and strong civic engagement, and they have inspired me to bring fresh ideas and practical solutions to Ajax.
 

Why I'm Running
 

The world is changing faster than ever before, and I know that stepping into public service means shifting toward a road I haven't travelled before. But my vision for technological progress, my professional strength, my education, and my experience working with people from all walks of life have given me the courage to stand before you today.
 

Like many of you, I have watched property taxes and household bills climb year after year, putting real pressure on working families right here in our ward. That growing burden is part of what pushed me to think seriously about change — not just to talk about it, but to step forward and be part of the system that decides it.
 

This is my first time running for public office, but it is not my first time serving others. Throughout my career and personal life, I have believed in listening, collaborating, and finding solutions that benefit everyone. I am entering municipal politics because I believe our community deserves leadership that is accessible, transparent, and focused on results — not politics.

I will work hard to represent every resident with integrity, respect, and accountability.
